An anonymous $5,000 grant to the Ventura Family YMCA will be used to purchase computer hardware, Netpulse cardiovascular equipment software and other software programs, Executive Director Mark Dengler said.
Netpulse stations enhance cardiovascular exercise equipment with color and touch-screen monitors and feature a high-speed connection to the Internet, Dengler said.
Through the Internet connection, those using the equipment will have access to Yahoo and CNN Interactive, among others services. In addition to unlimited access to the World Wide Web and progress log software, each station includes a built-in TV and CD player.
The YMCA is at 3760 Telegraph Road. For more information, call 642-2131.
