Disney Donation to O.C. Culture

* Re the Scroogiest Place on Earth:
I am overwhelmed by the beneficence of Disneyland, which donated $5,000 to Arts Orange County “toward helping local schools beef up music, theater, dance and visual arts programs.” (“Seeking Creative Outlets in O.C. Schools,” July 21).
Mickey’s retirement fund must have gotten awfully low if that’s all Disney feels it can afford to contribute toward the cultural growth of Orange County’s youth. Or, maybe Disneyland would prefer our county’s young minds not discover there are many other forms of entertainment much more enriching than shaking hands with a rodent.
