FileNet Corp.: The Costa Mesa software maker reported strong gains in net income and revenue for the second quarter. The technology firm said net income totaled $4.6 million, or 14 cents a share, compared to a net loss of $3.9 million, or 13 cents per share, for the same period last year. The net loss for the second quarter of 1997 includes restructuring and other charges totaling $4.3 million. Revenue was up 29% to $80.4 million from $62.5 million. For the first six months, FileNet posted net income of $7.2 million, or 21 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $9 million, or 30 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue rose to $154 million from $110 million.
