Two men were arrested on charges of murder Friday after the shooting of a man riding in a car the night before, police said.
The crime took place about 10:30 p.m. Thursday near 4th Street and Magnolia Avenue, said Karen Kerr Owens of the Long Beach Police Department. Vincent Paul Ramos, 19, and Ruben Mariscal, 23, were caught after Long Beach police set up a perimeter around the area.
Police did not immediately identify the man who died at St. Mary Medical Center. Police believe the shooting was gang-related, she said.
The victim was in a white car with several others when it passed the two suspects, who were standing in front of an apartment building, Kerr Owens said. The two men opened fire, fatally wounding one man and hitting another who suffered minor wounds, she said.
