3 Meetings Scheduled on Charter Reform

Three public meetings on Los Angeles City Charter reform will be held next week.
Monday, the Elected City Charter Reform Commission will discuss issues related to the city attorney’s office. The meeting begins at 4:45 p.m. in the Department of Water and Power building, Room A5A, 111 N. Hope St.
Thursday, the elected commission will discuss reports on public safety and issues related to completing the report on the Department of Public Works. The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the DWP building. Information: (213) 977-6700.
Wednesday, appointed officials with the City Charter Reform Commission will meet to fine-tune its recommendations for a citywide system of advisory neighborhood councils, with decisions about powers and duties such councils should have.
The commission also will consider whether to increase the size of the Board of Education of the Los Angeles Unified School District and potential pay increases for school board members. The meeting begins at 1 p.m. on the 15th floor of the DWP building. Information: (213) 367-5234.
