The National Park Service has announced that a series of public forums will be held this week to discuss the future of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
The forums will be held to give the public a chance to comment on the park’s General Management Plan, or master plan, said Arthur Eck, park superintendent.
The plan is divided into four park concepts: preservation, recreation, education and an integrated concept that combines the other three areas, Eck said.
The public meetings are scheduled today from 7 to 10 p.m. in the board room at Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 Thousand Oaks Blvd.; Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at Taft High School, 5461 Winnetka Ave., Woodland Hills; Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Autry Museum, 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles; Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Webster Elementary School, 3602 Winter Canyon Road, Malibu, and Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Ventura County Government Center, Assembly Room, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.
