* Update: On the only night of the WNBA season when every team is playing, the Sparks begin the second third of their season with a grim outlook. The team finished 14-14 last season and was in the hunt for the playoffs on the season’s final day. A long win streak would be needed to reach .500 at the midway point, particularly difficult considering the Detroit-Cleveland-Washington trip at the end of the month and home games against Houston and Phoenix, a combined 17-4. Sacramento, 2-0 over the Sparks, lost at Utah, 68-64, Monday. Sacramento traded rookie center Tiffani Johnson to Phoenix on Sunday for Pauline Jordan. The Sparks conclude their four-game home stand Sunday afternoon against Cleveland.
