L.A. Opera Opening to Feature ‘Carmen’

Placido Domingo and Jennifer Larmore will star in Bizet’s “Carmen” as part of the opening night gala of the L.A. Opera.
The gala, a retrospective of the old Studio 54 days of disco, is scheduled for Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Jude Green will chair the black-tie event with honorary co-chairs Olivia Newton-John and Herminio Morales, consul general of Spain.
Tickets to the gala are $900 for orchestra seating and $1,000 for Founders Circle seating. Proceeds will benefit the L.A. Opera.
