Two men have been jailed following a three-week investigation that uncovered $50,000 worth of cocaine and heroin at homes in Ventura and Santa Paula, police said Saturday.
Ventura resident Silvestre Torres Contreras, 28, remained jailed Saturday in lieu of $250,000 bail after being arrested Thursday on suspicion of selling four ounces of cocaine to undercover officers at a Ventura house, police said.
Contreras’ associate, Esteban Rosales Medina, 36, was taken into custody the same day after a search of his house in the 500 block of Oak Street in Santa Paula netted 10 ounces of cocaine and 2 ounces of heroin, police said.
Also found at Medina’s home was $19,000 in cash, said Oxnard Police Sgt. Steven Blanchard.
Medina remained jailed Saturday on suspicion of possessing controlled substances for sale, authorities said. He was being held on $250,000 bail.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Ventura County Municipal Court.
The investigation and arrests were made by a team of narcotics officers from Oxnard and Ventura police departments and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
