Senior Center to Add Room, Breezeway

MOORPARK — Visitors to the Senior Center on Moorpark Avenue can expect a little more breathing room.
The City Council on Wednesday approved the design for the expansion of the Senior Center and agreed to allocate $14,000 more than the $293,000 already slated for the project.
“With the number of participants and the kinds of programs that they have, it was clear that an expansion was necessary.” Mayor Pat Hunter said.
The bulk of the money--$163,000--would go toward constructing an additional room adjacent to and west of the center’s Citrus Room.
The plan also calls for a breezeway enclosure, costing $61,000. The rest of the money would go toward other modifications and the fee for the design.
