From Times Wire Reports

The second ice storm in three weeks in the region’s northern states left thousands without electricity, although utilities said repair efforts were easier this time. In Maine, still recovering from the first ice storm, Central Maine Power reported 35,000 households--about 80,000 people--were without power from a storm that brought freezing rain, snow and sleet. The storm wrought its worst havoc along the coast in southern Maine. It hit several communities that had escaped problems during bad weather from Jan. 7 to Jan. 9. Coastal New Hampshire also suffered problems: about 36,800 people lost power, a spokesman said.
