3rd-Grade Class Sizes Might Be Reduced
Third-grade class sizes might shrink in the 1999-2000 academic year.
That proposal will be considered by trustees of the Fullerton School District on Jan. 27.
The district’s younger grades already participate in the state’s class size reduction program, which gives the district extra money for every class with 20 students or fewer.
Expanding the program to the third grade would require building classrooms or bringing portable ones onto campuses at a cost of as much as $2 million, district officials said.
