Santa Ana Freeway Connectors to Close
Because of freeway improvements, the southbound Santa Ana Freeway connectors to the eastbound and westbound Garden Grove Freeway are scheduled to close Thursday for about five months.
In addition, the southbound Santa Ana Freeway offramp to Bristol Street-La Veta Avenue will close until June.
Both closures will allow workers to widen the freeway as part of the I-5 North Improvement Project, a $1.1-billion plan that includes adding carpool lanes and upgrading ramps.
The suggested detour for motorists traveling south on the Santa Ana Freeway to the Garden Grove Freeway is to exit at The City Drive-State College Boulevard, keep right and continue on The City Drive to the Garden Grove Freeway onramps.
For La Veta Avenue or Bristol Street access, motorists should exit at The City Drive-State College Boulevard, keep right and take The City Drive to Garden Grove Boulevard-Memory Lane and make a left on Memory Lane to Bristol.
For those traveling to La Veta, turn left on Bristol, which changes into La Veta.
