6 Suspected Gang Members Arrested
Six suspected gang members have been arrested in the last three days on suspicion of crimes ranging from assault to statutory rape, authorities said Friday.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 17-year-old Thousand Oaks boy Friday on suspicion of assault in an attack on two teenagers Feb. 17, said Sheriff’s Senior Deputy Dan Hawes.
On Thursday two Thousand Oaks boys, ages 16 and 17, and a 17-year-old Camarillo boy were arrested in connection with the same incident, Hawes said. All four teens were booked into Ventura County Juvenile Hall.
The teens are suspected of attacking two suspected rival gang members in the 500 block of Ventu Park Road by cornering them inside a gas station and pummeling them with a hammer. The two victims suffered lacerations and abrasions, but were not seriously injured.
On Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies arrested Guillermo Gonzalez, 19, of Thousand Oaks, on suspicion of statutory rape for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl at a local motel Feb. 20. Gonzalez, who also is a suspected gang member, also was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen credit cards.
As deputies were driving Gonzalez to East County Jail, they spotted a 15-year-old suspected gang member driving a Honda Accord that was believed to be stolen, Hawes said. The 15-year-old also was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen credit cards and was booked into Juvenile Hall.
