Hells Angels Plan Anniversary Party
More than 1,000 Hells Angels from around the world will converge on Ventura in March for an anniversary celebration.
The local Hells Angels chapter is sponsoring the weekend event to commemorate the founding of the motorcycle club 50 years ago, said chapter President George Christie.
The anniversary celebration will start the weekend of March 14 in San Bernardino, where the club was founded, Christie said.
Riders will not arrive in Ventura until March 16, he said. A party is planned for Nicholby’s nightclub on St. Patrick’s Day, he said.
Club members from as far away as Australia and Denmark will attend, Christie said.
The Ventura police are taking every precaution to make sure the celebration does not get out of hand, said Mayor Jim Friedman.
