Washington-based CarrAmerica Realty has purchased Bay Technology Center, a two-building office complex at 16800 and 16802 Aston St. in Irvine, for $13.5 million. The seller, Amresco Residential Mortgage, will lease back the 110,000-square-foot complex, according to Bob Smith of CB Commercial Real Estate Group, who, along with Eric Paulsen and Jerry Cole, represented both parties in the deal.

Electronic Data Systems has leased 79,470 square feet in the Plaza at Continental Park, an office building on Rosecrans Avenue in El Segundo owned by Continental Development. The five-year deal is worth $8.5 million. Steve Silk and Jay Borzi of Cushman & Wakefield represented EDS in the deal.

Financial services and insurance giant Fremont General has renewed the lease on its Santa Monica headquarters for another seven years in a deal valued at $14 million. The firm occupies 96,000 square feet at 2020 Santa Monica Blvd. Jim Bilger and Cameron Kennedy of CB Commercial and David Thurman of Westmac Commercial represented the building’s landlord, Santa Monica Associates One, in the transaction.
