Season at a Glance: Bobik, the Mammonte League co-player of the year last season, is averaging 20.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 4.2 steals for Newbury Park (19-4, 10-0 in league play), which is ranked No.4 in the region by The Times. He became the Panther’s all-time scoring leader Friday against Channel Islands, giving him 1,268 points. He broke the previous record of 1,246 set by Kent Keyser from 1975-78.
Week at a Glance: The Brigham Young-bound Bobik averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and 5.5 steals in victories over Agoura and Channel Islands. He failed to score in the first quarter against Channel Islands, but ended up with 23 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and seven steals. “I wasn’t worried,†Bobik and his scoreless first quarter. “I knew I’d get my share of shots.â€

Season at a Glance: Perkins, who entered the season as Grant’s career scoring leader, has become the school’s career rebounding leader as well. She is averaging 15 points and 14.9rebounds for the first-place Lancer (17-3, 6-0 in the Valley Pac-8 Conference).

Week at a Glance: Perkins has 20 points, 23 rebounds and six steals in 65-45 Mid-Valley League victory Wednesday over defending champion North Hollywood, ending the Huskies’ 51-game conference winning streak dating to the 1992-93 season. She followed that performance with 20 points, 14 rebounds and four steals in a 79-33 victory over Monroe on Friday. “She really stepped up,†Grant Coach Steve Brumwell said. “She’s a great player and that’s what great players do.â€
