Rackauckas Has Raised $155,000 for D.A. Race
Superior Court Judge Anthony J. Rackauckas Jr. has raised $154,926 in his campaign for district attorney, vaulting him ahead of his only announced challenger, Assistant Dist. Atty. Wallace J. Wade, according to campaign financial reports filed Monday with the registrar of voters.
Wade reported raising $16,020 and lent his campaign another $20,000. He had expenses of $8,088, leaving him with $27,932 in cash as of Jan. 31. Rackauckas has spent $44,085 and has $108,841 left to spend. He also reported receiving some services in lieu of cash.
Rackauckas’ list of contributors included dozens of judges, defense attorneys and deputy district attorneys, many of whom gave the maximum $1,000 allowed for the race. They included Superior Court Judges David O. Carter, Theodore E. Millard and Everett W. Dickey. The Irvine Co. also contributed $1,000.
Wade’s contributors included former grand jury foreman Mario Lazo and attorneys Thomas Malcolm and Ron Talmo.
