Cleveland Leads Titans to Victory

Nieshia Cleveland, a reserve, scored 15 points to help visiting Cal State Fullerton to a 72-64 victory over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Sunday.
Kris Sigg added 14, including making five of six free throws, for Fullerton, which made 15 of 24 overall.
Fullerton dominated in rebounding, finishing with a 53-39 edge. Erin Whiteside had 16 rebounds and Sigg added 10 for the Titans (8-11, 5-3).
Nashira Shaw added 11 points for Fullerton.
In another conference game:
UC Santa Barbara 79, UC Irvine 72--Visiting UC Irvine trailed by five, 64-59, with five minutes left but UC Santa Barbara went on an 8-2 run over nearly the next three minutes to pull away.
Megan Stafford had 20 points and Nicole Payton added 17 for Irvine.
