Belmont Notre Dame 57, Crescenta Valley 54--The No. 2-ranked Falcons lost their 37-23 halftime lead and then lost the first-round game of the Archbishop Mitty tournament in San Jose.
Sinnamonn Garrett had 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Crescenta Valley (10-1).
Moorpark 67, Serra 26--Damaris Hinojosa had 11 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and five of Moorpark’s 21 steals in the first-round game of the Bell-Jeff tournament.
Sophomore reserve Kristin Nadas scored 11 points for No. 6-ranked Moorpark (8-1).
Glendale 63, Bell-Jeff 35--Mania Houspian scored 19 points for Glendale in a first-round game of the Bell-Jeff tournament.
Vanessa Gomez had 13 points and eight rebounds for Glendale (10-2), ranked No. 10 by The Times.
North Hollywood 63, Rosamond 29--Tashean Thomas scored 24 points and Markia Derby had 19 for North Hollywood (7-3) in a first-round game of the Bell-Jeff tournament.
Highland 55, Oxnard 49--Ron Haywood witnessed the birth of his son, Ryan Jordan, in the morning, then coached Highland to a comeback victory at the Thousand Oaks tournament.
Sharanda Fletcher had 14 points for Highland (6-6) and Lamarra Burleson had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
Quartz Hill 64, Barstow 55--Freshman point guard Sharonne Herbert scored 16 of her game-high 18 points in the second half for Quartz Hill (2-7) in a first-round game of the Serrano tournament. Candice Pourghahreman and Lannete Richardson each scored 14 points for Quartz Hill.
