Holiday Season Means Christmas Too
Was I surprised when I looked at Kevin Baxter’s column “Holiday Tales to Educate Wee Ones” (Dec. 13) and found there were no recommended Christmas books! Instead, there were three books on Hanukkah and two on Kwanzaa. Baxter neglects the historical significance of the season and the faith of 86% of the American people and the need for believing Christians to educate their “wee ones.”
What is the reason for the Christmas season? Church billboards will tell you that Jesus is the reason, and, of course, he is. However, God didn’t need to come down to Earth to have a season dedicated to him. After all, he is the reason for every season.
