Brown Gives as Good as He Gets

Whether right-hander Kevin Brown turns the Dodgers into a consistent winner over the seven years of his new contract remains to be seen. But other organizations figure to come out big winners as a result of Brown’s record $105-million deal--charitable organizations.
Brown’s wife, Candace, says the couple plans to continue supporting their two favorite charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and groups that support children with cancer.
In the past, Brown has also donated $50 for every strikeout he records to cancer research, purchased tickets to enable children to attend games and worked with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, teen recovery centers and children’s cancer centers.
