The city is counting down to the ninth annual First Night Fullerton, a family-oriented, alcohol-free New Years’ Eve celebration featuring live entertainment, children’s activities and a fireworks finale. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. The city-sponsored program’s goal is to broaden public appreciation of the arts while offering an alternative to the traditional New Year’s Eve celebrations, which often focus on drinking. Cost is $12 for adults and $8 for children age 12 and under. Admission buttons can be purchased at the Fullerton Museum Center, 301 N. Pomona Ave., or at the event’s entrance. Event volunteers are also needed. For information, call Shannon Gallegos at (714) 738-5332.
