PLACENTIA
The city will begin its celebration of the state’s sesquicentennial with an awards ceremony for poster contest winners at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Placentia Library, 411 E. Chapman Ave. More than 700 students from kindergarten through second grade participated in the contest, sponsored by the Placentia Historical Committee. About 80 students from 11 schools in the Placentia-Yorba Linda school district will receive ribbons.
