Family Support Offices Extend Saturday Hours
Two county district attorney offices--one in the San Fernando Valley, the other in the Antelope Valley--recently increased their Saturday hours to help people with child support concerns.
The county Bureau of Family Support Operations offices in Encino and Palmdale will now be open the second and third Saturdays of each month, district attorney spokesman Mike Botula said. Officials decided to extend the hours after a large number of people came to the offices on the agency’s “Outreach Saturdays,” which began in May, he said.
People should make appointments for Saturdays, so staff will have extra time to review the cases, Botula said. But walk-ins won’t be turned away, he said.

Hours at the bureau’s customer call center have also been extended, Botula said. Operators are available from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call (800) 615-8858.
