Palomar Wins State JC Title
Playing City College of San Francisco seems to bring out the best in Palomar College.
The last time they met was in 1993 and Palomar beat the Rams, 27-25, to win the national title.
It was somewhat easier Saturday, as the Comets (11-1) recorded a 30-21 victory over previously undefeated CCSF (11-1) in the Blue Diamond Shrine Bowl at Hughes Stadium in Sacramento to win the State championship.
Tony Alvarez passed for 219 yards and two touchdowns, and Joe Hall scored on runs of two and five yards. The latter came with 3:10 left and gave the Comets a 30-19 lead.
