Orlando, a senior quarterback at Santa Margarita who played wide receiver last season, was given the difficult task of replacing Carson Palmer, now the starting quarterback at USC. Orlando isn’t the passer Palmer was, but he’s proving to be a pretty good runner. In the Eagles’ 17-0 victory over Irvine in the Division VI semifinals, Orlando ran for a career-high 140 yards, including an 81-yard run for a touchdown, and he returned a punt 37 yards to set up another score.
