Anaheim City Council

* VETERANS’ MEMORIAL: The council will consider approving a conceptual plan for a memorial that would pay tribute to Anaheim’s veterans. City redevelopment officials say the memorial could be built on a parcel north of Anaheim Museum in the downtown.

Orange County artist Richard Turner will present his memorial concept to the council. If the concept is approved, Turner will proceed with final construction drawings. The city has earmarked $175,000 for the project. The request for the memorial came from local veterans.

Placentia City Council

* MEDICAL BUILDING: The council will consider final approval of a code amendment to allow medical and dental offices in the Santa Fe Commercial District, uses now prohibited.

The proposed offices would benefit neighboring businesses and residents, according to city planners.

The Placita Santa Fe Merchants Assn. also favors the code amendment. If approved, the amendment would be effective Oct. 1.; medical and dental business would still have to obtain a city operating permit.

San Juan Capistrano City Council

* NEW SCHOOL: The council will consider rezoning a flood plain parcel at 32532 Alipaz St. to allow construction by Saddleback Valley Christian School.

The council also will consider banning U-turns for northbound traffic on Del Obispo Street at Paseo de la Paz.
