Twenty-four cadets in Golden West College ‘s Criminal Justice Training Center recently graduated as Police Academy Class 116.
None of the 24 cadets began the academy with police jobs lined up, but more than half were hired as police officers at seven area departments, including Newport Beach, Westminster and Fountain Valley, before graduation. The remaining graduates are being recruited and are testing for jobs with various Southern California agencies.
The college’s academy is certified by the California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training. All graduates are eligible to work for any law enforcement agency in the state.
