A man who allegedly shot two people in an alley late Thursday turned himself in hours after the incident, police said Friday.
Louis Negron, 19, of Garden Grove went to the police station about 3 a.m. Friday and told officers he had fired the shots, Officer Phil Schmidt said.
Six hours earlier, a 26-year-old man and 14-year-old boy were standing in an alley near Barclay Drive and Katella Avenue when Negron allegedly asked about their gang affiliation, Schmidt said.
The suspect opened fire after the two victims said they were not in a gang, Schmidt said.
The victims ran into an apartment complex on Maureen Avenue. They were taken to an undisclosed hospital, where they were treated for multiple gunshot wounds.
The victims were in stable condition by Friday, Schmidt said.
