Spotlight: GE Units to Pay $3 Million for Stake in Intertainer
General Electric Co.’s NBC and GE Capital agreed to pay about $3 million in cash for a 6% stake in Intertainer Inc., a Santa Monica-based start-up online service that provides movies and television shows to computer users and TV viewers. Closely held Intertainer will begin distributing its video-on-demand service this quarter in Pennsylvania. NBC has been increasing its investments in technology and Internet companies as a way to attract more viewers and advertisers.
