Site of Ceremonies
Re “Right Site for Citizenship,†editorial, March 31:
I was naturalized March 29. The place of the ceremony was the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. I attended with my American-born wife. At the entrance of the ceremony we were separated. As witness, Linda went upstairs. I remember with pleasant memories that significant moment of my life. My thoughts and feelings were, if only my loved ones could be physically next to me to share precious moments like this.
So, when I read your editorial about Los Angeles Unified School District Supt. Ruben Zacarias floating the idea of holding citizenship ceremonies in neighborhood schools and places more intimate, it touched me deeply.
