NEWPORT BEACH — Advantix Inc., a provider of automated ticketing systems and services to entertainment and sports venues worldwide, said Monday that it has acquired the oldest independent computerized ticketing service operator in the United States.
The Newport Beach company bought Bay Area Seating Service Inc. for an undisclosed price. The acquisition is “a major step” in putting Advantix into the national ticketing market, said its chief executive, W. Thomas Gimple.
Doug Levinson, chief executive of BASS, will continue to oversee BASS operations in Northern California on a day-to-day basis and assist with Advantix’s expansion.
There will be no change in the daily operations of BASS, which will continue to operate under the BASS name with the same personnel and distribution network.
