Splash update--The Splash must win tonight by more than two goals to gain the second tie-breaker advantage for home field advantage during the first round of the playoffs should the teams tie for second place. The Splash has won nine of its last 14 games, with all five losses by one goal. The Splash has won three of its last four road games and is in third place, 4 1/2 games behind Seattle and a half-game behind the Knights.
Knights update--Second-place Sacramento has won two in a row since losing eight consecutive games. Goalkeeper Dan Madsen, who has the league’s third-best goals-against average, wasn’t challenged much in Friday’s victory over the Splash. The Knights have the league’s best penalty-killing unit (73.2%).
