Anteaters’ Second-Leading Scorer Transfers to Florida A
Brian Johnson, the second-leading scorer on the UC Irvine men’s basketball team last season, has transferred to Florida A&M;, his mother, Collie, said Friday.
Johnson, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 12.3 points and 4.9 rebounds and was named to the Big West Conference all-freshman team.
The Anteaters finished 1-25 and Rod Baker, who had recruited Johnson, was fired. Johnson left at the end of the semester.
Johnson must sit out this year and will be eligible for the 1998-99 season.
