Loara’s Morales Runs, Passes in Victory Over Anaheim

ANAHEIM — Mike Morales ran for two touchdowns, passed for two scores and had an interception as Loara defeated Anaheim, 37-25, Thursday night at Glover Stadium.
With Loara (2-0) leading, 30-25, Morales intercepted a Jimmy Gorman pass with six minutes left in the game. Morales scored three plays later on a 17-yard run.
The score was set up when Morales passed 57 yards to Khemarak Tor on the prior play.
The senior quarterback led Loara with 139 yards rushing in nine carries and completed six of 15 passes for 155 yards.
The Saxons’ Andy Guajardo finished with 114 yards rushing in 14 carries and scored a touchdown on a two-yard run.
Morales got Loara started when he scored on a 61-yard run on third down and 13 to give the Saxons a 7-0 lead.
The Saxons increased their lead to 14-0 on the next possession when Morales passed seven yards to Johnny Patton.
Jose Moreno kicked a 34-yard field goal with 8:52 left in the first half to give Loara a 17-0 lead.
Anaheim (0-2) scored with 4:30 remaining in the first half when Gorman passed 78-yards to Tru Nguyen.
Gorman completed 17 of 33 passes for 295 yards and four touchdowns. Nguyen caught seven passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
