Doubles Team Is Difference for Dana Hills

Amy Tranckino and Margaux Pierog swept in doubles, 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 as Dana Hills defeated Palos Verdes Peninsula, 10-8, in girls’ tennis.
Peninsula (3-1) is the top-ranked team in Division I and Dana Hills (4-1) is No. 1 in Division II.
Amber Tantee also swept for Dana Hills, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. The Dolphins were ranked second in The Times’ preseason poll.
In other nonleague tennis:
Corona del Mar 15, Mater Dei 3--Corona del Mar, ranked first in the Times’ preseason poll, received solid play from Caylan Leslie, its No. 2 singles player, who swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Nadia Vaughan, the Sea Kings’ No. 3 singles player, also swept, 6-4, 6-3, 6-0. Corona del Mar is 4-0.
Rosary 9, Canyon 9 (Won on games, 73-62)--Michelle Hamilton, Rosary’s No. 1 singles player, was dominant in winning, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.
In nonleague volleyball:
Huntington Beach 3, Irvine 0--Lori Daedelow had nine service aces for undefeated Huntington Beach (3-0), which won, 15-0, 15-5, 15-11.
Daedelow had eight kills to lead No. 6 Huntington Beach. Teammate Courtney McKinney had seven kills. Irvine is 0-2.
