Splash update--Bernie Lilavois was named the Continental Indoor Soccer League’s player of the week after scoring six goals in two victories over Arizona. Lilavois, with 40 goals, trails Houston’s Paul Dougherty (43) and Indiana’s Mirko Castillo (41) for the goal-scoring title. Lilavois is third in total points (55), and second in shooting percentage (.364). The Splash is in second place, 4 1/2 games behind Seattle with three games to play. This is the first of consecutive games against Sacramento, which the Splash will play in the first round of the playoffs. They split two earlier meetings.
Knights update--Sacramento lost eight in a row before defeating Portland, 9-3, on Saturday. Sacramento trails Seattle by 5 games and is a half-game behind the Splash. Jon Parry leads the Knights with 50 points, including 34 goals--the league’s fourth-best total.
