Immigration Study

In response to the Sept. 15 story on the Rand Corp. immigration study, which calls for a reduction in immigration quotas:
During the congressional debate on immigration last year, they voted to separate legal and illegal immigration reform, promising to address the issue in the next Congress. Now, it is high time that we take a serious look at the runaway immigration numbers that will, according to many demographers, lead to an increase in the nation’s population to as high as 500 million by the mid-2000s. We simply must be more discerning in the caliber of immigrants we admit. Why shouldn’t we accept only those who enhance the country?
