4 Drug Arrests Made Close to Junior High

Four people were arrested Wednesday in connection with sales of tar heroin and cocaine near Fremont Junior High School, authorities said.

During a probation search of an apartment in the 1200 block of North H Street, officers from Oxnard, Ventura and Port Hueneme found 6 grams of tar heroin, 4 grams of cocaine and 4 grams of marijuana, said Oxnard Police Sgt. Tim Combs.

The apartment is across the street from the junior high’s athletic field, Combs said.

Officers arrested Roberta Bart, 34, and Sandra Velasquez, 46, both of Oxnard, on suspicion of possession of heroin and cocaine for sale and narcotics trafficking within 1,000 yards of a school, Combs said.
