Toll Road Directors Modify Plans
Directors for the agency planning the Foothill toll road took swift action Thursday to head off a future public relations headache by shifting the property line and a proposed sound wall for an adjacent housing tract.
Concern erupted about two months ago over the proposed “West Irvine†development by Lewis Homes, said Paul Glaab, director of public affairs for the toll road agency. A portion of the housing tract would bump against the road’s right-of-way near its main toll plaza.
The agency, which already posted a sign alerting future residents to the toll plaza’s location, agreed to a larger buffer between the road and houses and will move a planned sound wall to better insulate against noise.
