The Advertising Is on the Wall--of Restrooms

Wall-to-Wall Indoor Advertising of Baltimore mounts ads on the walls of restrooms in bars, health clubs and restaurants. Clients so far include local small businesses, including a bartenders academy, limousine companies and clothing stores. Though advertisers haven’t been knocking their doors down, agency owners--brothers Graham and Gillet Boyce--don’t see their business going down the drain. They point to a survey from 20/20 Research in Nashville that found 77% of 300 respondents disagreed with the statement: “Advertising in the restroom is inappropriate.” Graham Boyce said of his restroom ads: “You’re guaranteed someone’s attention from three to five seconds to three to five minutes.”
