The grapevine: Initial discussions between the Dodgers and Montreal Expos regarding the reacquisition of Pedro Martinez indicate it may be a difficult proposition. The Expos seem intent on landing third base prospect Adrian Beltre as part of any package involving Martinez, but the Dodgers will not deal Beltre or Paul Konerko.
