* In review: Gordon took the lead on lap 239 of 250 when Mark Martin had to pit for fuel.

* Average speed: 116.467 mph

* In review: An exciting race featuring multiple lead changes on numerous laps is marred when it ends under a yellow flag.
SEPT. 28
* Race: CART Marlboro 500
* Winner: Mark Blundell

* In review: Anticipating a yellow flag that never came after Greg Moore blew an engine, Jimmy Vasser slowed on lap 240 of 250 and Blundell took the lead for good.
OCT. 18
* Race: Craftsman Truck Series’ No Fear Challenge
* Winner: Mike Bliss
* Average speed: 137.195 mph
* Attendance: 40,000
* In review: Bliss, the pole-sitter, led 93 of the 100 laps and set a series record with his average speed.
OCT. 19
* Race: NASCAR Busch Series’ Kenwood Home & Car Audio 300
* Winner: Todd Bodine
