Free Drive-Thru Flu Shots Offered
Free drive-thru flu shots are being offered Saturday at the Farmers Insurance Group regional office.
Sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital, the flu shot clinic is being offered to healthy people 18 and over.
Doctors recommend anyone over 60 and those whose health may be endangered by influenza receive annual vaccinations, according to JoLynn de la Torre, communication manager for Simi Valley Hospital.
Those with an allergy to eggs cannot receive the vaccine, de la Torre said.
The vaccines are being provided by the state Department of Health Services.
Farmers Insurance Group offices are at 3041 Cochran Ave. in Simi Valley. Enter the parking lot off Galena Avenue.
Participants are asked to bring a can of food for Simi Valley-based Care & Share, a nonprofit organization that helps people in need.
The flu shot clinic is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are required. Information: 583-8971.
