Fire Drill Is Today for 150 Businesses, Schools
The city’s first communitywide fire drill will take place today with 150 businesses and schools participating.
The Fire Department is hosting the event in commemoration of National Fire Prevention Week, which runs through Saturday. This year’s theme: “Know When to Go: React Fast to Fire!â€
About 85% of the participating businesses have never performed a fire drill, said Robyn Butler, Fire Department public education officer.
“There’s a lot of panic and people don’t know what to do, so they don’t do anything,†she said. “We want people to take it seriously and get used to the sound.â€
Information about the drill can be found on the city’s Web site, https://www.anaheim.net, or by calling (714) 765-4040.
