The DanceWest program includes the following works:
Friday
“Confrontation,†Hae Kyung Lee & Dancers, a rumination on inner conflict.
“Sleep (making peace with the angels),†Pat Graney Company, an examination of the dream state, with a contribution from ceramic artist Marilyn Lysohir.
“Windscape,†Oguri, an examination of what the choreographer calls an uncontrollable element.
“Quatre†(Four), Diavolo Dance Theater, a revision of Heim’s signature piece “The Cage.â€
Saturday
“Force Fields,†Malashock Dance & Company, with fight choreographer-guest performer James Newcomb, combines combat and dance.
“Maria The Storm Cloud,†33 Fainting Spells, on themes of hypochondria and lost love.
“Night,†Nancy Karp + Dancers, a revision of a much acclaimed longer piece, “Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass).â€
“The Maverick Strain,†Joe Goode Performance Group, on the renegade impulse embraced and attacked in American culture.
