The ability of quarterback Jake Fitch, wide receiver Nick Gilliam and tailback Mike Chavis to break big plays has kept Mission Viejo in many games. Esperanza’s 28-10 victory over Fountain Valley last Friday marked the third time the Aztecs have won or shared the league title in three seasons. But they haven’t won a playoff game since 1992.
