‘Big Night’

As deliciously prepared as the dishes it features, this 1996 film is a lyric to the love of food, family and persuasive acting. Second, the restaurant’s maitre d’, is convincingly played by Stanley Tucci (left), who originated the project. Secondo and his older brother, Primo (Tony Shalhoub, right), have emigrated from Italy determined to make a success of the restaurant business in America. And so it goes (Showtime Tuesday at 8 p.m.).
