Put Out by Outlet

I enjoyed Helmut Koenig’s item on his quest for a Burberrys raincoat at the factory outlet in Hackney, England (“In the Trenches at Burberrys,” Oct. 26).
As a British expatriate, I grew up in Hackney, and return frequently. I have been to the outlet a couple of times, and concur with his assessment. I too came up empty-handed. Much of the merchandise is either damaged, seconds or odd sizes, and the prices are still very high by American standards.
A clarification on his directions to the outlet: There is no such intersection as Cambridge Heath Road and Morning Lane. Going north on Cambridge Heath Road, it becomes Mare Street as you exit the borough of Bethnal Green and enter the borough of Hackney. The correct major intersection should be Mare Street and Morning Lane.
